Eigu

Eigu had been exploring the Nexus with Deargán and his other friends for quite awhile now, and was beginning to get a little lonely. Yes, he had the others for company, but he was beginning to wish for a bond or even sponsoree of his own. He remembered the place where Deargán had sponsored him from, and wondered if they had any new clutches. They'd had them fairly regularly for a while, and he'd even considered going back a time or two, but the group had always been on the far side of the Nexus when he thought of it.

By the time they got around to visiting Star City, he had either forgotten about it, or didn't feel the urge to try sponsoring. Now, the urge was back, and for once, he wasn't half way across the Nexus. He was only a few worlds away. He went to Deargán and told him what he was thinking.

"You want to go sponsor your own little one, eh? 'Tis fine by me! In fact, I've been wanting to visit the City again. We'll all go!" Deargán could be a strange dragon sometimes, and Eigu hadn't known what to expect when he'd declared his wish to sponsor, but somehow, he didn't think that was it. Still, he hadn't been discouraged from going, so he was happy.

Wanting to take a couple days to get everyone organized, Deargán told Eigu he could get an early start, if he didn't want to wait around. They'd meet him at the station later. The orange-red male couldn't wait, so he didn't hesitate. He headed straight to the station and found a place to stay. Before he went to the hatching bays, he headed to the restaurant section. He had been looking forward to some of the more exotic dishes you could only get on Star City.

As he sat enjoying one of his favorites, a familiar face appeared. A Nightmourner, one of the other products of Star City, he'd met Shadowcaster when he and his friends had visited the EverRealm. She'd been an interesting acquaintance, and Eigu was surprised to see her away from her home.

"Shadowcaster! It's nice to see you again; what are you doing so far from home?" He gestured to the other side of his table, offering her a chance to join him. She smiled, but declined.

"Oh, no, I just ate. But thank you. I'm here because I have a clutch here, who I should really be getting back to. They are getting quite big; you should come see them. A few are still waiting for sponsors, if you're interested." She smiled again, and headed back to the bays. Eigu watched her go, thinking that he was glad he decided to act on his urge to sponsor this time. Who knows if he'd have a connection to the parents of any other clutch? He decided he would go check out her clutch, just as soon as he finished his meal. He wouldn't let good food go to waste.

A short while later, he was outside the hatching bay he was told held Shadowcaster's brood. He slipped inside, and moved toward the scampering kits. A couple of the little females came over to investigate the newcomer; a little gold and a black. They declared themselves to be Auspice and Dawncaster, and Eigu spent a little while playing with them and a few of the other kits who were waiting for their sponsors to come pick them up. Afterwards, Shadowcaster told him they wanted to think about it for a little while; they'd let him know when the little ones decided who they wanted to go home with.
