Ketair and his companions were intrigued by the idea of a place mostly for wolves. True, this Alair Wolfkeep would have some people and dragons, but they were mostly the friends of the wolves who would be living here. And they were planning to hold a special event to commemorate the opening of the Keep: a frenzy-like festival for wolves. Offering an opportunity for single wolves to meet others, and maybe find a mate, and for paired wolves, who may want to give their pups adoption opportunities but who didn't necessarily know anywhere to do so, the opportunity to adopt their pups out to qualified candidates.
The idea appealled to Ketair; he would send Spark to Pern to tell Elnevi about this. This would give them a great chance to get to know one another, and decide if they wanted to stick with each other, or find a different mate. As neither of them had met many other, unrelated, wolves, this would at least give them a chance to meet others and see if their interest was only due to limited experience. He truly hoped it wasn't; he really felt like he could settle down the golden wolf.
Lost in his musings, he didn't notice when Linladu, who'd been listening into his thoughts, got bored and snuck away. He hid behind a nearby tree and waited, shaking his head at Ena, who had almost followed him, and mentally telling Spark to stay quiet. It took a few minutes, but finally, the silver wolf noticed his bond's absence. He could still sense the half-grown dragon's presence, but couldn't pinpoint it.
"Where did he go?" He asked his two remaining companions. He called out mentally, as well as out loud, "Linladu! Where are you?" But he heard only silence, and then, mental giggling, but still not enough to locate the bronze. Looking around, his gaze lingered on the smug firelizard, and then, the barely straight-faced saurake, and he said, half-serious, "Some friends you are." And he stalked off, sniffing the air for signs of which direction his mischievious bond went.
Behind him, Ena had lost the battle, and was now laughing her serpentine head off, and Spark was making happy screeches, having successfully avoided his bond's questioning. After a few more minutes of continuously distracted searching, he found his bond, silently laughing behind a nearby tree. Ketair started to glare at Linladu, but the bronze's laughter was infectious; the young dragon couldn't stop laughing even though he'd been found, and soon, Ketair had joined in.
When all four had recovered their composure, they looked for a place to crash for the night. There was no way they'd make it back to Treval this evening. Ketair asked one of the people working on the Keep to write him a quick note, and he sent Spark to Elnevi with it. When the firelizard returned, he had a response: Elnevi would come to this "Wolf Frenzy". She didn't guarantee she'd choose him, though she said she was very interested in the possibility.
Happy with this answer, he and his companions decided to wander around the Nexus for a few days, just to see if they could find a nice place to start a pack, and maybe even a place like Alair WolfKeep, a place wolves could go, breed, raise pups and maybe offer them for adoption. They heard of a place that might work, from an unusual duo-winged dragon. The world's name was unpronouncable to the wolf, but after checking it out, he decided it might work nicely. If his mate liked it, they would come back. If they did, he'd try to pronounce it better, but the closest he could come to it was Tervenna. He liked the sound of Tervenna Wolf Den, for the cave system he found.
When he got back to Alair, he discovered Elnevi already waiting for him. She seemed to have met several of the other males, and was uninterested in them. The golden wolf only had eyes for Ketair. His companions backed off for a little while; they knew he would be preoccupied for a while. They entertained themselves quite well for the duration, but were pleased to be the first to see the pups after they were born.
Spark didn't even mind being sent to Nimble with yet another message.

Ketair's experiences in Alair WolfKeep (with Elnevi, of course)
